Suspended priest who ran off to Italy with schoolgirl he groomed has married her

A Catholic priest who fled the United States to Italy with a schoolgirl he’d spent months grooming has married her.

Alex Crow, 30, did a runner to Rome from Alabama again in July, main to an enormous manhunt. Cops investigating the couple’s disappearance discovered a bunch of letters that they’d written to one another.

They’ve since returned to the US – and now they’ve bought hitched, in line with a wedding certificates filed on Monday.

When the pair returned to America, the archdiocese of Mobile stated it was “relieved”. In a press release, it stated: “While Crow’s behaviour has been scandalous, the archdiocese does not have any information to indicate that Crow has committed any crime.”
