Former Chancellor Alistair Darling dies aged 70

Alistair Darling, the previous Labour MP who served as chancellor through the 2008 monetary disaster, has died aged 70.

An announcement issued on behalf of the politician’s household mentioned: ‘The dying of Alistair Darling, a former Chancellor of the Exchequer and long-serving member of the Labour cupboard, was introduced in Edinburgh right this moment.

‘Mr Darling, the much-loved husband of Margaret and beloved father of Calum and Anna, died after a brief spell in Western General Hospital underneath the fantastic care of the most cancers workforce.’
