A beloved cat who patrolled a West Yorkshire railway station has handed away, resulting in an outpouring of grief on her devoted Facebook web page.
Felix, who served as a ‘Senior Pest Controller’ at Huddersfield Railway Station, handed away peacefully on December 3, 2023, after the invention of a terminal sickness.
She was born on May 17, 2011, and joined the TransPennine Express (TPE) workforce six weeks later, spending the vast majority of her life ‘on responsibility’ on the station.
The black-and-white cat, whose identify was given to her as a kitten when employees thought she was male, wore a high-vis jacket and a TPE identify badge and even loved use of a novel cat flap that allowed her to bypass the station’s obstacles.

She spent her days catching mice, making associates with commuters and getting paid in cat treats.
The cat’s passing was introduced by TPE, which stated she was humanely put to sleep at an area vet.
She was within the firm of Angie Hunte, Huddersfield Station Manager, and Jacqui Cox, Huddersfield Station Team Leader.
Angie stated: ‘Felix was greater than a cat. She was a beloved member of our station household and left her paw prints on many commuters’ hearts as they handed by the station.
‘Her presence introduced smiles to guests from all over the world, making Huddersfield Station a particular place. We will miss her dearly.’

Felix was cherished by clients and TPE employees. She rose to fame in 2015 after a Facebook web page was arrange by a commuter
Felix was on the station for 12 years and is survived by her apprentice Bolt, who joined in 2018.
The pair have taken half in a yearly calendar and have been featured in two books – elevating greater than £240,000 for charitable causes.
Her rise to fame started in 2015 when commuter Alan Hind encountered the pleasant feline throughout his day by day travels between Huddersfield and Manchester.
Alan created a Facebook web page for Felix and it has since gained 170,000 followers.

One commenter, Jane Horner, stated: ‘I’m so very unhappy to listen to this information. I’ve loved many a stroke and cuddle over my commuting years.’
