Customs Department spokesman Phanthong Loykulnant added: ‘Thailand is just not a gateway to smuggle unique animals in a foreign country. We will catch anybody who tries to take animals on planes.’

The Taiwanese man is now dealing with expenses for violating a number of sections of Thailand’s Customs Act, Animal Epidemics Act, and Animal Conservation and Protection Act.
