School halls and church buildings set for ‘silent evening’ as variety of choirs dwindles

Britain’s college halls and church buildings may very well be set for a ‘silent night’ this Christmas after Labour revealed the dwindling variety of caroling choirs.

Analysis of Arts Council England knowledge exhibits that the variety of choirs in English state colleges has dropped by a 3rd within the final decade. There at the moment are 20,000 fewer college bands, orchestras and choirs in English state colleges than there have been in 2016.

Labour’s Shadow Education Secretary, Bridget Phillipson has pledged the get together would widen entry to music and drama schooling.
