Earlier yesterday, Mr Gove informed the Commons he was glad to discuss his involvement with Baroness Mone after she claimed he had ‘inquiries to reply’.

He added: ‘If there are additional inquiries to ask about PPE procurement, and I imagine the Government has a robust document, then I’m very happy to take action with the Covid Inquiry.’

The NCA has interviewed Lady Mone and Mr Barrowman underneath warning over allegations of conspiracy to defraud, fraud by false illustration and bribery. They deny wrongdoing.
