EastEnders and Archers actor Ian Pepperell dies aged 53
Ian Pepperell, greatest identified for enjoying Roy Tucker in The Archers, has died on the age of 53 following a protracted sickness, the BBC stated.
The thespian was described by the editor of the programme Jeremy Howe as ‘the proper Archers actor’ who was capable of play comedy and emotion equally properly.
In addition to his appearing profession Pepperell ran a pub known as The Star Inn within the city of Ringwood on the sting of the New Forest along with his spouse Nikki for the final two years.
In a heartfelt tribute posted on its Facebook web page on Friday, she wrote: ‘It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to let you know all, that Ian – left this world as we speak – in peace, his approach. As I, and the entire closest to him knew he would.
‘”To die, To sleep, To sleep, perchance to dream, ay, there’s the rub”.’
Paying tribute to him, Mr Howe stated: ‘Ian was the proper Archers actor – he beloved being a part of an ensemble, relished the camaraderie and gossip of the Green Room, and had a seemingly effortlessly high-quality tuned vocal method.
‘Like all the perfect radio actors he might suppose on his ft and alter the way in which he performed a scene within the blink of a watch.
‘Thanks to Ian’s brilliance, he created in Roy a personality who managed to face in two instructions concurrently in nearly each scene he performed.

‘He captured Roy as each genial and anxious, humorous and unhappy, easy-going and completely confused – a person who might maintain down with ease a prime job, but who at all times carried with him Hamlet’s sense of failure.
‘It all made good sense due to Ian’s uncanny and laser-guided skill to seek out humour within the emotional scenes, and discover pathos within the comedy that he at all times performed so unerringly properly.
‘Ian had much more fuel within the tank and was determined to return to Ambridge as soon as his well being permitted. It is tragic that he died in his prime, we are going to miss him dearly and our hearts exit to his household and associates and everybody who knew him. Ambridge beloved Roy – The Archers and our thousands and thousands of listeners beloved Ian’s Roy Tucker.’
