Christmas ‘ruined’ as consumers fume over ‘rancid’ and ‘rotten’ turkeys

Furious festive feasters have lashed out at main UK supermarkets over rancid turkeys.

For many households throughout the nation, the turkey is the centrepiece of their Christmas dinner – however some unlucky souls have allegedly been left with little to cheer about.

Despite all the thrill, all of the anticipation, some have opened up their massive chook solely to be met with bitter disappointment. Supermarkets Aldi, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Tesco have all been slammed by raging revellers, lots of whom hooked up vile-looking photos of manky meat and sweaty pores and skin.

“A big massive thank you to @asda for the rotten turkey,” One bloke stated. “£37.50 down the drain.

“Just been opened, Christmas totally ruined, family devastated. Me and the kids left to eat the scraps from last week’s foodbank delivery. Disgrace”.

“For goodness sake, this year’s turkey is even worse than last Christmas. Why always me? #RottenTurkey #MerryChristmas,” one other stated.

Another gutted gravy-guzzler complained: “My daughter bought a turkey from Sainsbury’s on Friday, she went to prepare it xmas eve and it was rotten. I’ve bought a leg of lamb before from Sainsbury’s and was rotten … are they not storing their meat and poultry properly”.

“Aldi turkey bought Friday use by 27th just opened to prepare for today going rotten that’s today’s dinner ruined,” one other individual, who had paid £24.75, posted.

Tesco received it within the neck too, with one individual writing: “I swear @Tesco are out to ruin my Christmas – my three ‘joints’ of meat to serve 4 (food to order) are tiny and swimming in grease and liquids and the vegetarian option has to be used by Christmas eve!”

Another wrote: “Asda, Christmas Day officially ruined. Purchased this earlier and it’s rotten. It smells absolutely disgusting.

“It’s shocking how you can sell something that’s rotten and then leave people worried where they are going to eat another turkey with limited time left.”
