Post Office scandal newest: Horizon issues by no means relayed to me, investigator tells inquiry – watch stay

A senior Post Office investigator has stated he was not made conscious of any issues “from the top” concerning the defective Horizon IT software program, the general public inquiry has heard.

Stephen Bradshaw stated he had by no means been alerted to issues with Horizon and that every one investigations have been carried out appropriately.

Asked if he had given “enough thought” as to whether he could have been concerned, he stated he was not given any information “from the top downwards” about bugs, errors and defects with the IT system.

He advised the inquiry he had “no reason” to suspect there was something flawed with Horizon, including: “If I wasn’t told about the issues with the Horizon system, I can’t put that down [in his witness statement].”

The public inquiry was advised Mr Bradshaw carried out investigations on behalf of the Post Office for 20 years and is at present employed as a safety supervisor.
