Sadio Mane proudly confirmed off an image of his 18-year-old spouse as he flew to the Africa Cup of Nations.
The former Liverpool ahead, 31, tied the knot with Aisha Tamba in a non-public ceremony in his residence nation of Senegal earlier this month. Initial studies that she was 18 had been disputed amid separate claims that she was really 26. The authorized age of consent in Senegal is 16.
Her father, Amadou Tamba, has since said that his daughter is eighteen and that the pair met “more than two years ago”. Explaining how they met, Mr Tamba stated Mane had seen “something special” in his daughter, with couple sticking to custom by not relationship earlier than they received hitched.

Aisha will now be a supply of inspiration to Sane as Senegal look to defend AFCON trophy they gained in 2021. The 2024 event is happening within the Ivory Coast and kicks off on Saturday.

Revealing extra particulars on how his daughter and son-in-law received collectively, Amadou stated: “My wife and Aisha visited their [Mane’s] family one day, and this is where he met her for the first time. He probably saw something special in her and his parents appreciated her as well. They came to see me. We discussed as per the tradition, agreed on everything and waited for this day to happen.”
He added that “they were not dating because Aisha was still young”. Talking to native media, Mr Tamba confirmed: “She is 18…. It [the first time Mane saw her] was more than two years ago.”

“With the values and all that she heard about him, she accepted voluntarily. But as parents we also guided and advised her to freely make up her mind. God did what’s best for her.”
Mr Tamba is reportedly a contractor within the development trade and he has been working carefully with Mane and his household on a number of initiatives for greater than a decade.
