Sky Sports compelled to apologise as technical difficulties blight AFCON protection

Sky Sports have been compelled to apologise as technical difficulties blighted their protection of the Africa Cup of Nations.

The broadcaster, who’re displaying each fixture from the continental event, failed to offer their viewers with commentary for the beginning of the group stage conflict between Senegal and The Gambia on Monday (January 15).

All that might be heard for the primary quarter-hour of the match was the gang noise within the background. A message appeared on the display screen which stated: “We’re sorry about the sound problems.”

And a sixth slammed: “I put this on in the background and turned around to carry on working…five minutes later, I’ve turned back wondering… has it not started? Ohhh silly me, no commentary, of course. @SkySports do better, plenty of talent out there dying to shine during @TotalAFCON2023.”
