Pictured: Woman, 27, who died after falling from van on 40mph street

Police have launched an image of a younger girl who died after falling from a transferring van. 

Leah Senior, 27, plunged from a white Ford Transit van travelling on a 40mph street in Wakefield, Yorkshire on Wednesday night.

Despite medical therapy, Ms Senior, from Huddersfield, died from her accidents on the scene in Denby Dale Road. 

The male driver of the van, 25, was arrested by police on suspicion of inflicting demise by harmful driving and drug driving offences. 

The man, from Kirklees was launched on bail pending additional enquiries.

Locals noticed a forensic tent erected on the street of the incident, as police combed the scene for clues

West Yorkshire Police shared an picture of Ms Senior in the present day as they appealed for witnesses and dash-cam footage of the incident, which befell between 8.20pm and eight.45pm close to to the junction with Hollin Lane. 

More than 30 emergency service employees converged on the scene, within the Calder Grove space of Wakefield, together with paramedics. 

A police forensic tent was seen erected on the street of the incident, the place locals described scenes of ‘panic’ and ‘shock’. 

The 40mph street was briefly closed to visitors after the incident as forensics looked for clues.

One girl informed native media: ‘I noticed police put up a tent and knew it was a fatality. It’s disgusting. I do not know what’s coming to the world. It’s actually horrible to consider.’

 Detective Superintendent Marc Bowes of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, mentioned: ‘We are persevering with to conduct intensive enquiries into this incident through which a girl has misplaced her life. 

‘Anyone who can help enquiries is requested to contact police on 101 referencing log 1604 of January 17.’
