‘I’ve visited 4,500 UK boozers and checklist them in spreadsheet – one is famous’

Gavin Ellis began maintaining monitor of all of the boozers he visited again in 2006. He now boasts a powerful spreadsheet detailing each watering gap he has visited within the UK and Ireland.
And regardless of having visited some 4,524 ingesting spots in 18 years within the UK and Ireland alone, he stated one specifically was his favorite – and sadly it is not there. “I actually only live a mile away or so from the Crooked House, the pub that hit the headlines last summer for all the wrong reasons,” he admitted.

“That was an amazing place, such a shame what happened to it!”
Gavin reckons the actual variety of boozers he is visited worldwide is definitely nearer to five,000, however he is not as meticulous when maintaining monitor of his vacation bevs. “I’m always enjoyed travelling round the country and checking out the pubs wherever I am,” he stated.
Gavin, who initially began amassing beer cans earlier than realising they had been gathering mud, informed the Daily Star: “I amassed a set of over 1,000 [cans] which I displayed on cabinets in my bed room.

“I finally ran out of space and as they were proper dust gatherers I recycled them all.
“It was in 2006 that I assumed I’d begin maintaining monitor of what beers I had drank within the new ingesting locations I visited whereas travelling spherical and I’ve been maintaining monitor ever since!”
Gavin said he has enjoyed keeping lists since he was a child. A glance at his spreadsheet, kept in alphabetical order by location name, reveals he’s travelled the length and breadth of the country to get his fill of the best boozers the UK has to offer.

“It is interesting to look back at the places I’ve been,” he added. Asked the place a few of the finest spots to drink within the UK are, he added: “In my opinion the best pubs are right here where I live, in and around the Dudley area.
“So many good previous pubs, with good ales and plenty of character!”
