Man jailed after terrier is killed and eaten by different canine to outlive hunger

Conor Ward was sentenced to 6 months behind bars for the “truly harrowing” case in a ruling from District Judge Nigel Broderick at Ballymena Departmental Court in Northern Ireland.

It is believed the canine died from “significant trauma to the upper respiratory tract,” and Ward has since been banned from preserving, proudly owning or transporting any animal for 20 years, BelfastLive reported.
Judge Broderick instructed the court docket: “I cannot imagine a more serious and harrowing case of animal cruelty.” Ward entered responsible pleas to 5 of the seven fees in opposition to him in December final 12 months.

A six month jail sentence was imposed to each punish Ward and deter others, however the 32-year-old was freed on bail pending an attraction of the sentence.
