Mass brawl outdoors school sees 5 hospitalised as arrests made

Five individuals have been rushed to hospital – together with one with severe accidents – following a ‘mass brawl’ outdoors a school in Bournemouth.

Police say they’ve arrested various individuals in reference to the incident, which occurred in town’s Meyrick Road at round 2.46pm.

Armed police had been deployed to the scene after studies of various accidents – with one individual stated to have suffered ‘severe, however not life-threatening’ accidents. A sixth individual is known to have been handled on the scene and discharged.

The incident occurred near Bournemouth and Poole College’s campus on Meyrick Road; the faculty says it didn’t happen on its grounds.

A Dorset Police spokesperson stated: ‘Dorset Police acquired a report at 2.46pm on Thursday 25 January 2024 of a disturbance in Meyrick Road in Bournemouth.

‘Officers attended the scene and 5 individuals had been reported to have sustained accidents. All have been taken to hospital for remedy. 

‘One of them has sustained accidents which might be believed to be severe however not life threatening.

‘Two individuals had been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. A 3rd individual has been arrested on suspicion of assault by beating.
