The rumours have been reported by Daily Echo this week. And residents weren’t very completely satisfied after they heard the information as many vented on X (previously Twitter).
One fumed: “Just what the town needs… a third Greggs within 5mins walk of each other!” While one other exclaimed: “The Ivy to yet another Greggs! No offence to Greggs, I’m quite partial to a pasty, but with BPC trying to convince everyone B’th is a chic metropolitan, you gotta laugh!”
A 3rd chimed in: “Can’t we have a coffee shop or a barbers or a phone repair shop just to mix it up a little bit thanks,” whereas one other added: “Doesn’t that just sum Bournemouth town centre up.”
Someone else moaned: “Greggs? Its gross and soooo overrated! We need shops! Small businesses, entertainment not more flipping crappy food,” whereas one other wrote: “That would be about right. Or a dirty big Wetherspoons. Stay classy.”

Talking in regards to the rumours, a Greggs spokespersons informed Daily Star: “Greggs is always looking into new shop locations, while we are unable to confirm anything at the moment, we will be sure to share any information in due course.”
The Ivy have been contacted by Daily Star for remark.
