Firm half owned by Rishi Sunak spouse set for thousands and thousands of kilos from authorities
A computing agency part-owned by Rishi Sunak’s spouse Akshata Murty is in line for thousands and thousands of kilos of presidency cash.
In current months, Infosys has been on an “approved list” of suppliers for public sector contracts price greater than £750million. The India-based agency is one in all 25 named on a £250m contract issued by NHS Shared Business Services final month for so-called “intelligent automation”.
Infosys – run by Ms Murty’s household – can also be one in all 62 suppliers lined up for a £562.5m contract from the Financial Conduct Authority for IT companies, Investigative Substack Democracy for Sale understands.
These all come below so-called ”framework agreements” letting public our bodies straight award contracts with out additional tendering. No awards have been made however Infosys could also be in line for thousands and thousands in taxpayers’ cash.
Infosys has acquired at the least £66m in public contracts since 2015. Mrs Murty owns round 39 million shares in Infosys, now price round £610m. The Cabinet Office mentioned: “Ministers do not take part in the evaluation or selection of bidders.”
The FCA mentioned it tendered publicly for IT assist contracts. NHS Shared Business Services mentioned: “There is no specific amount awarded to any supplier on the framework.” Infosys didn’t reply to a request for remark.
It comes as the determined Conservative Party is accused of attempting to rig the following election. The Tories are pushing adjustments to the Electoral Commission – prompting a rare broadside from the company accountable for voting.
