Laurence Fox LOSES excessive courtroom libel battle
Laurence Fox has misplaced his High Court libel battle with two folks he known as paedophiles on social media.
The actor and right-wing activist was sued by former Stonewall trustee Simon Blake and drag artist Crystal over a row on X in October 2020.
Fox, 45, referred to as Mr Blake and the previous RuPaul‘s Drag Race contestant, whose actual title is Colin Seymour, ‘paedophiles’ in an change a few resolution by Sainsbury’s to rejoice Black History Month.
The Lewis star – who based the Reclaim Party – counter-sued the pair and actress Nicola Thorp over tweets accusing him of racism.
The actor and right-wing activist advised the High Court {that a} tweet by actress Nicola Thorp calling him ‘unequivocally, publicly and undeniably a racist’ ended his profession.
But in her ruling at the moment, Mrs Justice Collins Rice stated: ‘Mr Fox’s labelling of Mr Blake and Mr Seymour as paedophiles was, on the proof, possibilities and information of this case, critically dangerous, defamatory and baseless.’
She added that Fox didn’t try to point out the allegations had been true or present ‘some other defence’ recognised in regulation.
As for Fox’s countersuit, the Judge dominated: ‘The regulation doesn’t regard the actual imputations towards Mr Fox that he was a racist, made by Mr Blake, Mr Seymour or Ms Thorp, as defamatory.’
