‘I finished Mike Tyson in his final struggle – now I’ve a really completely different job’
A former heavyweight boxer went from felling Mike Tyson to felling bushes.
Irishman Kevin McBride famously knocked out Iron Mike in Washington DC in 2005. It proved to the final struggle of Tyson’s eventful boxing profession, which featured brilliance, brutality and controversy in equal measure.

Teetotaller McBride, who retired himself in 2011, says preventing Tyson wasn’t the largest battle of his profession. Remaining sober is. “That’s a bigger fight,” he stated.

Tyson, whose final exhibition was the aforementioned Jones bout in 2020, is in talks over one more comeback. The 57-year-old is reportedly in negotiations with MMA icon Fedor Emelianenko over a boxing match.
