Brits share what they’re having for Pancake Day – together with ‘diabetes burrito’

While Shrove Tuesday is a poignant non secular vacation for some, for others, it is simply one other excuse to stuff their faces to the brim.

Just as we have gotten over the post-Christmas chocolate coma, Pancake Day is right here in a flash and Brits are actually getting enthusiastic about it. Over on the Casual UK subreddit, one Brit was determined to understand how others are spending their day of flipping and tossing.

And one is fulling leaning into being a ‘fats b**tard’ with their alleged ‘diabetes burrito’ of a crepe, others are preferring the common-or-garden lemon and sugar.

“It’s Pancake Day,” the unique poster wrote. “What’s your topping of choice? And then, what are you giving up for Lent?

“Pancake Day (sure, I do know, Shrove Tuesday…) is actually extra thrilling than among the different days we have a good time. But what’s your topping of alternative? Mine: conventional, sugar and lemon.

“Then I’m giving up pancakes for Lent.”

Eager to share their pancake topping go-to’s, many Brits fled to the feedback to make the case for his or her favorite kind of stack.

“Bacon, cheese and maple syrup,” one pancake fan wrote. Another candidly admitted: “Sometimes I like to be a real fat b**tard.

“Nutella, adopted by crunchy peanut butter, then whipped cream. Roll that dangerous boy up right into a tasty diabetes burrito.”

Not everyone seems to be keen on lemon and sugar

While a 3rd shared: “Anything that I can get my hands on. Also lemon and sugar.

“As for Lent I do not actually hassle, truthful play to anybody that does it although.”

Someone else said: “Lemon and sugar, or syrup/honey and fruit with yoghurt. I like chocolate or Biscoff pancakes too however they’re fairly sickly. Orange and brown sugar is sweet too!

“Not giving up anything for Lent, never have and never will. Today is just a great excuse for indulgence ahead of spring!”

Meanwhile, a fifth declared: “A row of Maltesers makes for an excellent pancake. After that’s it’s chocolate spread and raspberries.”
