London bus crash sends 9 folks to hospital after smashing into police van

A nightmare crash between a bus and a police van has seen 9 folks rushed to hospital.

The smash occurred in the present day (February 14) outdoors Oval Underground station in south London. Footage from the Kennington Park Road smash noticed the police van wipe out a lamppost on the pavement. It occurred on the intersection of the roads between Camberwell to Vauxhall and Kennington to Clapham outdoors St Mark’s Church, Kennington, close to the Oval Cricket floor.

A Met Police spokesperson instructed MyLondon: “Police were called to Kennington Park Road, SE11 at about 11:32hrs on Wednesday, 14 February following reports of a collision involving a police van and a bus. Reports claim one officer had to be cut out from the mangled wreck of the police van.

“Officers attended the scene alongside colleagues in LAS and LFB. Nine folks have been taken to hospital, together with various law enforcement officials. Their accidents have been assessed as not life-threatening or life-changing.

“Road closures remain in place while officers deal with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.”

An LAS spokesperson mentioned: “We have been known as at 11.36am in the present day (February 14) to studies of a street site visitors collision on the junction between Clapham Road and Kennington Park Road, SE11.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene. Our first medics arrived in four minutes. We treated 11 patients at the scene. We took nine people to hospital and discharged two others at the scene.”

As a results of the crash, the 36, 155, 185, 333, and 436 buses have been put into diverted routes.

A TfL spokesperson mentioned: “A police vehicle has collided with a bus in Lambeth this afternoon. Thankfully no serious injuries have been reported, though we understand this may have been distressing for those involved and we have support available for anyone affected by this incident. An investigation is underway and we are working with the bus operator and the police to establish what happened.”
