‘One man was hollering, saying, you understand, “stop him – catch him, tackle him, or whatever,’ Contreras recalled, as footage from others showed the actual tackle in real-time.

‘And he’s just barely running,’ he went on. ‘And out of nowhere I hear that guy hollering, so I’m just like, “OK, I’m right here.”‘

The dutiful dad continued:  ‘I didn’t think about it. It’s just a reaction. I didn’t hesitate – just do it.’

Eventually, after what he said seemed like an eternity, cops came to assist the Good Samaritan.

He went on to describe the entire ordeal in-depth, recalling how he and one other man took it upon themselves to protect the rest of the crowd moments after gunfire had broken out.

Contreras told his homestation KETV 7 Omaha: ‘So I went to go tackle him and another gentleman did the same thing.

‘And as I’m tackling him,’ he continued, I see there’s a weapon that either fell out his hand, or out of his sleeve – because he was wearing a long jacket, like a Carhartt.’

‘So when I see that hit the ground,’ he went on, ‘I think, you know, we gotta take this guy down.’

‘And so, like I said, I did, and another Good Samaritan did, and we held him down,’ Contreras said, with his daughter appearing visibly distraught as he spoke.

He went on: ‘And it seemed like forever, but it was probably like, 30 seconds – holding him down.

‘And me and the other gentleman are hollering, going, “Where’s the cops?” You know: “Get the cops over right here, get the cops over right here. We received him.”‘

Within a minute, he stated, officers arrived – and had been filmed rapidly descending on the suspect by Alyssa and a few others.

The man, who has but to be recognized, seems to be at the very least one in all three believed to have carried out the assault, which occurred simply after the Patrick Mahomes-led crew took the stage round 3:30pm.

The sound of gunshots rang out round that point, Contreras and his daughter recalled – resulting in the unrest that culminated with him crossing paths with one of many suspected gunmen.
