Birmingham’s Tony Mowbray battling critical sickness and taking day without work soccer
Birmingham City supervisor Tony Mowbray is to briefly step away from the position as he battles a critical sickness.
The 60-year-old will probably be taking a minimum of six to eight weeks off to bear remedy. He arrived at St Andrews simply final month to switch Wayne Rooney as Blues boss.
Assistant Mark Venus will take cost in his absence. In a press release on the membership web site, Mowbray stated: “Following my current LMA Health Assessment I’ve acquired a medical analysis that can require me to obtain remedy.
“Undergoing remedy will necessitate that I briefly step away from the technical space as supervisor of Birmingham City Football Club.

“Until I return, my assistant manager, Mark Venus, will take temporary charge of the team, supported by coaches Ashley Cole, Pete Shuttleworth and Maik Taylor. I will continue to provide advice and counsel while undergoing treatment.
“The club has been incredibly supportive of me and my family and we are very grateful. I know that everyone will be respectful of our privacy at this time.”
Since his arrival, Mowbray’s helped overturn their poor with four wins, two draws and three defeats in all competitions. The Championship club sit 15th in the table, six points clear of the relegation zone and with a game in hand.

CEO Garry Cook despatched Mowbray their finest needs, including: “Our ideas are with Tony, his spouse Amber, and household. We want him a speedy restoration and look ahead to welcoming Tony again to the membership to proceed the superb work that he has began.
“In the meantime, Mark Venus, Ashley Cole, Pete Shuttleworth and Maik Taylor, will be given all the support they need to lead the Club forward.”
