Swiss Air jet cordoned off at after ‘radioactive spill’

A Swiss Air jet has been cordoned off at Barcelona airport after an alleged radioactive spill from a suitcase.

Teams for air emergencies in addition to radiological specialist had been referred to as to Terminal 1 on the El Prat airport, which has since been closed as a result of ‘low-intensity radioactive materials’.

The passengers who had been on the Swiss Air flight from Barcelona to Zurich have been put in isolation whereas 5 staff had been taken to hospital as a precaution, in response to native media stories.

The spokesperson for the Government of Catalonia, Patricia Plaja, stated her company had no proof that there are ‘severely affected folks.’
