‘Cheeky’ boy, two, who went lacking in river pictured as dad and mom subject plea

A lacking two-year-old boy has been named and pictured for the primary time as his dad and mom subject a determined plea for his protected return.

Xielo Maruziva, two, entered the River Soar within the Aylestone Meadows space in Leicester at about 5pm on Sunday (February 18). Leicestershire Police confirmed that they had entered their third day of looking out and stated specialist divers had been deployed.

Heavy rainfall is making the search harder and the household has since pleaded for any assist in discovering their “charming and creative” son. The boy’s mom stated: “Xielo is a cheeky, humorous, pleasant, good, caring and impartial little boy.

A further statement from his father reads: “Xielo is a bundle of pleasure to us. He is an enthralling and artistic little boy, and has simply began at nursery. He loves cuddles, taking part in along with his toys and going to the park.

Xielo’s father also thanked people for their “ongoing love and help” as searches of the River Soar continue. The Met Office’s recent yellow weather warnings noting rising waters and heavy rain has disrupted police searches.
