A lady has been rushed to hospital after she was attacked by a canine whereas enjoying on the street exterior her house.

Rayven Hamilton, 4, was “pounced on” in Carmarthen, Wales, by the canine on Monday (February 19). She needed to have surgical procedure after struggling puncture wounds and a deep gash together with her mum describing the incident as “horrendous”. “We live in a cul-de-sac and she was out playing in the street as she does every single day,” she advised WalesOn-line. “Rayven is autistic and non-verbal so she likes being outside, so we took her outside to play as we do two or three times a day.

“The canine was out as it’s, all day every single day, and it actually pounced on her. We had been round 5 or 6 ft away when it occurred and there was no warning, it simply went for her. Everyone is telling me there must be a warning or one thing however there was simply nothing. No signal in any respect.”

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police mentioned: “Dyfed-Powys Police was called to Cae Grug, Carmarthen, at around 6.15pm on Monday, February 19, following a child being bitten by a dog. The child was taken to hospital with serious injuries which are not deemed life-threatening or life-changing.

“One dog was seized and is being held at a secure kennels and the owner is supporting police with the investigation. Enquiries are ongoing to identify the breed of the dog.”
