A hate crime probe has been launched by police after a pig’s head was thrown by way of a window of a Muslim household’s house. 

The incident occurred in Shear Brow, Blackburn, at 10.35pm on February 18.

The massive severed pig head may be seen on the carpet, together with a sizeable stone. Two males have been seen operating away from the home.

Lancashire Police acknowledged that they have been taking the matter ‘extremely severely’ and are treating it as a hate crime. Eating pork is forbidden in Islam and Judaism.

The power believes it’s an remoted incident and have reassured locals that patrols can be elevated within the space as a precaution.

The home belongs to a household has lived on the street for 50 years. They advised the Lancashire Telegraph that they have been ‘extraordinarily distressed’ by the hate crime. 

Residents within the space have been left shocked by the offence, with some believing that the matter was a case of ‘mistaken id’.

Councillor Suleman Khonat mentioned that he had obtained ‘a number of calls’ from individuals who have been ‘involved’ concerning the incident.

‘Shear Brow is a busy street and there’s a lot of CCTV round, so this isn’t one thing you’ll anticipate to occur right here or anyplace else for that matter,’ he advised the outlet.

A Lancashire Police spokesperson mentioned: ‘We have been referred to as to Shear Brow, Blackburn, at 10.35pm on February 18 to a report of felony injury at that location.

‘Two males have been seen to run away from the property.
