Boy, eight, killed by lorry as police launch investigation

An eight-year-old boy has died after being hit by a lorry in West London, as police launch an investigation.
The collision came about on a ‘very busy’ King Street in Southall at round 6.20pm on Friday night.
Police and London Air Ambulance paramedics had been known as to the scene and the kid was rushed to hospital, however he was later pronounced useless at 9.47pm regardless of the efforts of medical doctors and nurses.
His subsequent of kin are conscious. The police have now launched an investigation into the crash.
The driver of the lorry stopped after the incident and no arrests have been made at this level.

A spokesperson for the Met stated: ‘An investigation has been launched after an eight-year-old boy was killed in a collision in Ealing. Police had been known as to King Street, Southall, after calls at 18:20 on Friday, February 23 to a collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian.
‘The boy was handled on the scene by London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance paramedics earlier than being rushed to hospital. Tragically, regardless of the efforts of medical doctors and nurses, he was pronounced useless at 21:47.
‘His subsequent of kin are conscious. The driver of the lorry stopped on the scene; there have been no arrests.’
