Explosion sparks faculty evacuation with lady ‘severely injured’ after fireball

An explosion at a home in Bury at the moment (Wednesday, February 28) led to the panicked evacuation of a major faculty.

A girl in her 70s has been rushed to hospital with critical accidents following the incident on Nelson Street, Bury.

Emergency companies rushed to the scene and close by St Luke’s Primary School has been evacuated with a cordon in place, Manchester Evening News stories.

A GMP spokesperson mentioned: “Emergency services are currently responding to reports of an explosion at a property on Nelson Street in the Fishpool area of Bury.

“At this stage, a lady in her 70s has been taken to hospital with critical accidents. A 200m cordon is in place across the property and neighbouring properties. Local residents and the neighborhood will likely be knowledgeable if they should take any additional motion.”

Councillor Tamoor Tariq, who represents Redvales Ward, said on social media: “Heartbreaking to share there was a fuel explosion in the previous few minutes proper throughout from my home.

“I understand everyone has been taken into a place of safety and emergency services are doing all possible to deal with this awful situation.
