School’s new ‘psychological well being’ guidelines permit youngsters to put on pretend eyelashes

A college has modified its uniform guidelines to permit pupils to put on pretend eyelashes because of ‘psychological well being concerns’.

Parents had been despatched a letter informing them of the choice after attendance was affected by college students carrying them.

Headteacher David Collins, of Knole Academy in Sevenoaks, Kent, stated college students had been lacking college to have their lashes eliminated or refusing to attend with out them.

The letter stated: ‘We are more and more seeing attendance affected by college students taking day off to have false eyelashes eliminated or refusing to attend college by way of psychological well being concerns.

‘Having college students in class is an important consideration and due to this fact… we will permit false eyelashes to be worn so long as they’re discreet.’

But one mom, whose daughter, 13, is a pupil on the college, stated: ‘We’re a society being run by kids, which I’m not going to face for. Rules are guidelines and that is the tip of it.’

She stated that in permitting pretend eyelashes, the college was encouraging the women to undertake age-inappropriate seems.

The mom added: ‘It’s fairly worrying as a result of are they going to begin getting the eye of older males?’
