Non-league sport deserted as a result of medical emergency with gamers taken off

A non-league sport has been deserted following a medical emergency within the crowd.

The incident occurred within the second half of the National League South fixture between Slough Town and Bath City. The match was stopped within the seventieth minute, with Slough main 4-2, having been 4-0 up at half-time.

After the gamers have been taken off, Bath posted on social media: “It’s been announced that we are now awaiting an ambulance to arrive at Arbour Park. Both sets of players have been taken off the pitch. Our thoughts continue to be with the individual involved.”

Bath then added: “This afternoon’s game at Arbour Park has been abandoned following a medical emergency. Everyone at the club sends their unconditional love and support to the individual involved.”

Meanwhile, Slough posted: “Match abandoned. Due to the ongoing medical emergency, we must inform both supporters that today’s game has been abandoned. Updates to follow.”

Fans have been fast to want the supporter in query properly. One stated: “This is not good hope the person will be OK.” Another added: “I hope the fan is okay.”

In reply, Bath posted once more: “Sending our thoughts and strength to the individual involved.”
