Spirent Communications shares skyrocketed on Tuesday after the FTSE 250 agency agreed to be purchased by US-based communications tools agency Viavi Solutions.

The takeover might be value £1billion for the UK telecom testing enterprise with Spirent shareholders receiving 175p per share, reflecting a 61.4 per cent premium to the agency’s closing share value on Monday. 

Crawley-based Spirent shareholders may also obtain a particular dividend of two.5p per share ‘in lieu of any closing dividend’ for 2023.
