Woman is rushed to hospital after she is mauled by canine in a cemetery

A girl has been rushed to hospital after being mauled by a canine in a cemetery, as witnesses report a heavy armed police presence on the scene. 

Police had been referred to as to the cemetery in Tameside after the canine reportedly bit the lady on the leg.

Witnesses reported seeing a number of firearms officers and at Hurst Cross Cemetery in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester earlier this afternoon.

The girl was attacked by the canine at about 1.25pm this afternoon. 

The canine was then secured and armed officers stood down, with out firing their weapons.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson mentioned: ‘At round 1.25pm right now, officers responded to reviews of a canine attacking a feminine in Hurst Cemetery, Prospect Road, Ashton-under-Lyne.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: 'At around 1.25pm today, officers responded to reports of a dog attacking a female in Hurst Cemetery, Prospect Road, Ashton-under-Lyne'

‘Officers attended and the canine was subsequently secured. 

‘The feminine was taken to hospital with non life-threatening or altering accidents.’

Images from the scene of the mauling present a ‘no canine allowed’ signal whereas one other discover reads that there’s a ‘canine exclusion order’ throughout the cemetery.

The notices, which function the Tameside Council emblem, say ‘no canine allowed within the cemetery grounds’, aside from information canine.
