Marston’s chair exits to affix British Land board

Marston’s chair William Rucker is stepping down to affix British Land after 5 years with the pub group.

Rucker will substitute Tim Score as chair designate at British Land, after the property agency’s annual normal assembly on 9 July.

Marston’s instructed buyers the 60-year-old will depart his function as director and chair of the board with impact from 8 July, ‘in view of his different elevated enterprise commitments’.

Rucker can also be the present chairman of asset supervisor Intermediate Capital Group. 

In the previous, the banking veteran has held the function as CEO and chairman at funding financial institution Lazard, and has held an analogous function at housebuilder Crest Nicholson.

Mr Rucker stated: ‘I’m assured that Marston’s is in nice form and in good fingers because the Company prepares for the following part of its improvement with Chief Executive Officer, Justin Platt on the helm. I want Justin and the broader staff each success sooner or later.’

British Land, which manages a £12.7billion UK business property portfolio, additionally on Monday stated Mr Score would step down after 5 years as chair and 10 years on the board.

Score stated ‘I’m very proud to have served as Chair of British Land and am happy handy over to somebody of William’s calibre and expertise to steer the enterprise by means of its subsequent chapter. 

‘I’m assured he’ll present the Board with robust and efficient management and will probably be an excellent help to Simon and the manager staff.’
