Man who allegedly ‘headbutted’ Roy Keane at Arsenal match denies assault
A 43-year-old man has denied assaulting Manchester United legend Roy Keane, who was allegedly headbutted at a match.
Scott Law, of Waltham Abbey, Essex, pleaded not responsible to a cost of frequent assault when he appeared at Highbury Magistrates’ Court in north London on Thursday. The assault by beating cost pertains to an incident on the Emirates on September 3 final yr, following Arsenal’s 3-1 victory over United, the place former Ireland midfielder Keane was working as a pundit.
Footage emerged on social media of fellow Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards stepping in to calm an obvious confrontation.

A Sky spokesperson mentioned on the time: “We understand the police are investigating an alleged assault by a member of the public immediately preceding the footage circulating on social media. In the footage seen, Micah Richards was acting to defuse a situation.”
The Metropolitan Police mentioned: “Police are investigating an incident at Emirates Stadium on Sunday, 3 September, throughout which a person was assaulted.
“On Monday, 4 September, a 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault (ABH). The man has been taken into police custody. Enquiries are ongoing.”
Sky are understood to have beefed up safety for pundits following the incident.
Law is to face a two-day trial on the identical courtroom on May 29 and 30. He was launched on unconditional bail till his trial.
