Mini pony city mayor celebrates 18th birthday on St Patrick’s Day with Guinness
Patrick, a miniature Shetland pony and the unofficial mayor of Cockington in Devon, is ready to rejoice his birthday on St Patrick’s Day.
His homeowners, Kirk and Hannah Petrakis, say his six years are the equal to turning 18 in human years. The pony grew to become an area celeb after his homeowners began taking him to their native pub, The Drum to assist him socialise for his function as a remedy horse.
He supplies emotional help to folks in psychological well being wards and retirement houses. Patrick grew to become mayor in 2019 after the earlier mayor handed away and a petition to have him fill the place attracted a whole bunch of signatures.

“Patrick became the mayor of Cockington after his charity work with the War Horse memorial,” stated proprietor Kirk.
“Now he’s a therapy pony that goes round mental health wards and retirement homes – he helps a lot of people in need. The community loves him! He gets invited to a lot of openings.
“On St Patrick’s Day, he turns six years outdated however in human years, he will be 18.
“He’s legal now to go to the bar and get his Guinness!”
Kirk and Hannah hold their followers up to date about Patrick on their Facebook web page, The Adventures of Patrick the Pony, which now boasts over 100,000 followers.
According to Kirk, Patrick loves all the eye he receives within the pub, with folks taking photos of him and cuddling him.
Commenting on his behaviour, he stated: “Patrick is always on best behaviour though and is very docile. He has never had to be kicked out and is a lot better behaved than some of the dogs.
“He is quiet and just brings a calming presence.”
