‘Total embarrassment’ – ref slammed over Dundee vs Rangers sport being referred to as off

Chris Sutton slammed the Scottish Premiership as a “total embarrassment” after Rangers‘ match away at Dundee was referred to as off.

The Gers have been trying to return to the highest of the desk in a 12 midday kick-off at Dens Park on Sunday (March 17) – however referee Don Robertson put pay to that by deeming the pitch unplayable simply 90 minutes beforehand.

After an inspection at 10.15am, Robertson knowledgeable each managers of his determination. Rangers boss Philippe Clement shook his head, and he wasn’t the one one miffed by the choice.

Celtic legend Chris Sutton took to X, previously Twitter, and did not maintain again on his ideas. He fumed: “A total embarrassment for the Scottish top flight having the Dundee Rangers game called off an hour and a half before kick off.

“Absolute shambles the way it’s come to this. Don Robertson the ref rocks up at 1020 for a pitch inspection… absolutely a call earlier can be wiser…”

The travelling Rangers fans will now have to travel two hours back to the capital. Their supporters found themselves in unison with Sutton for a rare change.

“Can’t imagine I’m agreeing with Chris Sutton,” commented one, while another replied: “Can’t stand him however he’s spot on right here an absolute shambles no surprise our league is branded a joke.”

A third quipped: “Jesus Christ! Chris Sutton speaking sense? Never thought I’d see the day.” And a fourth added: “You realize it’s unhealthy if you truly agree with this walloper.”
