Legendary Liverpool and Nottingham Forest defender Larry Lloyd dies aged 75

Former Liverpool and Nottingham Forest legend Larry Lloyd has died on the age of 75.

The Bristol native had spent 5 years with the Reds between 1969 and 1974 the place he received the First Division title and the UEFA Cup in the identical season in 1973.

He racked up 218 look for Liverpool in his tenure at Anfield. Following a two-year stint at Coventry City, he made the transfer to Forest in 1976 and have become an integral a part of their two European Cup triumphs underneath iconic boss Brian Clough in 1979 and 1980.

Forest paid tribute to their former participant on X (previously Twitter) on Thursday (March 28) as their official account’s assertion learn: “We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Larry Lloyd. Part of the Miracle Men, Larry was an integral player in the Forest side that memorably won back-to-back European Cups in 1979 and 1980, making 218 appearances for the club in total.

“We ship our condolences to Larry’s family and friends at this really unhappy time. Rest in peace, Larry.” Lloyd – who made four appearances for England between 1971 and 1980 – hung up his boots in 1983 following a two-year spell with Wigan Athletic where he acted as a player/manager.
