Gerwyn Price pressured to drag out of Premier League Darts look tonight
Gerwyn Price has been forced to pull out of Premier League Darts due to suffering a back injury.
The 2021 world champion was scheduled to take on world number one Luke Humphries on Thursday (May 2) who will now receive a bye into the next round due to tournament rules.
Along with the bye into the semi-finals, the current world champion will also gain two league points and +1 leg difference while the Iceman will be forced to take a -6 leg difference on the league table.

The 39-year-old currently sits seventh in the table, having won just seven matches and is without an overall nights win alongside Rob Cross and Peter Wright, with the latter sitting rock bottom.
Upon news of Price’s pull out, fans on social media wished the mercurial character well while hoping for a call-up of one particular player to take the Welshman’s place.

One fan on X (formerly Twitter) wrote: “Good luck Gerwyn , hope good for next week” while another discussed the need for back-ups as they added: “said it last year but every player in the PL should have a nominated back up who can fill in in place of injury or emergency on one occasion”.
One player who was seemingly a favourite to make the step up was Stephen Bunting who’s coming off his recent Masters triumph as one support of the Bullet commented: “Call Bunting up he’d win the premier league in one night” while another hoped Surely need to bring in Stephen Bunting for tonight – scenes if he won it”.
It’s sure to be a thrilling night of action in Premier League Darts’ second trip to Scotland with the tournament to be hosted at P&J Live in Aberdeen.
Luke Littler is five points clear at the top of the table as he first takes on Nathan Aspinall with Luke Humphries hot on his heels and is now just three points behind his teenager rival thanks to the two-point swing he receives with Price out of commission.
