Harry and Meghan branded ‘insensitive’ over transfer that has royals ‘rolling eyes’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been branded “insensitive” after trying to “one-up” the Royal Family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they would be visiting Nigeria in May for talks about the Invictus Games. It comes shortly after Meghan announced the launch of her new lifestyle brand, American Orchard Riviera.

But Charlotte Griffiths of the Mail on Sunday claimed the pair’s news would have the royals “rolling their eyes.” She told GB News: “Of course, they never try anything other than get a one-up on the Royal Family but I think what they’re really doing is on paper, they’re trying to celebrate 10 years of Invictus Games.

“Let’s face it, the real reason is that they need content for Netflix, they want to appear as quasi-royals, they want to carry on conducting quasi-tours as if they are still members of the Royal Family. I think the fact they are going to a Commonwealth country when they describe the Commonwealth as Empire 2.0 is a little bit rich.”

Griffith’s comments refer to remarks Harry made in 2020. “When you look across the Commonwealth, there is no way that we can move forward unless we acknowledge the past,” he said.

“And I think so many people have done such an amazing, incredible job of acknowledging the past and trying to right those wrongs, but I think we all acknowledge there is so much more still to do.”

It comes after another royal expert branded the pair “insensitive” following the launch of American Orchard Riviera. The ex-Suits star’s first product was previously revealed to be a jam after she shared a cryptic video unveiling the brand on Instagram.

It follows the news King Charles and Kate Middleton are both suffering from undisclosed forms of cancer. Both the monarch and the Princess of Wales learned of their diagnoses while undergoing treatment for other conditions – Charles for an enlarged prostate and Kate abdominal surgery.

Lizzie Cundy, a former friend of Meghan’s, told GBN America the Duchess is “not reading the room” as she attempts to reestablish herself as “a Gwyneth Paltrow type.” She added Harry and Megan’s business ventures are “not really relatable.”

“I think it’s pretty insensitive when Catherine’s [Middleton] going through what she’s going through and the King is going through his cancer issues too, it’s really insensitive, to be honest,” She went on to allege that the pair “don’t realise how ridiculous they’re coming across,” adding: “They’re so into themselves they can’t see the wood for the trees.”
