Klopp breaks silence on Mo Salah spat as Liverpool boss makes ‘respect’ remark
Jurgen Klopp has insisted he has buried the hatchet with Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah following their touchline spat.
Outgoing boss Klopp and Salah clashed on the touchline during the Reds’ 2-2 draw at West Ham, which dealt another blow to their fading title hopes. Salah, who was surprisingly left out of the starting line-up, had a heated exchange with the German before coming off the bench after Michail Antonio’s 77th-minute equaliser.
The bust-up ended with fellow substitute Darwin Nunez pushing team-mate Salah away before they entered the fray. After the game, when Salah was asked to stop by waiting reporters, he said: “There’s gonna be a fire today if I speak.”

Quizzed on the incident during his pre-match press conference for Sunday’s home clash with Tottenham, Klopp said the matter had been resolved.
“It’s completely [resolved], no problem. If we didn’t know each other for long I am not sure how we’d deal with it but we have known each other for a long and we respect each other so much,” said Klopp, whose farewell tour has turned sour since he announced his decision to step down this summer.

“We are absolutely fine with it. It’s a non-story. But in general, the best situation is everyone is in the best place, we win games and score loads of goals and then incidents like that do no happen. Mo to start?
“Three games to go and I change my habits completely? You want the whole line-up?”
While Klopp will definitely leave this summer, Salah could also be on his way, with the Egyptian continually linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.
Klopp added: “You have to get used to it not being my subject. He is incredible but I should not speak about that, other people will decide that.
“I am the wrong person to talk about this. I just try to help the basis for the future of the club. These decision are for others.”
