TNT Sports troll Jurgen Klopp after Liverpool boss vowed to boycott broadcaster
TNT Sports have cheekily hit back at Jurgen Klopp following his rant about the channel’s match scheduling.
The Liverpool boss has been vocal about his disdain for 12.30pm Saturday kick-offs following a midweek game. The Reds are actually playing on a Sunday this weekend as they host Tottenham (4.30pm).
The outgoing boss declared on Friday that TNT Sports is off his viewing list and even made a crack about rejecting any future punditry offers from the broadcaster, formerly known as BT Sport, via the Express.

Klopp vented: “I had a discussion only the other day with colleagues from our favourite TV channel which I will definitely not watch again, TNT, and said it’s always a conversation they have, saying they pay you, they give money to football. It’s not like that. I really don’t see it like that. It’s exactly the other way round. Football pays them.”
Highlighting the connection between punishing Premier League timetables and the absence of English clubs in the latter stages of the Champions League, he remarked: “This morning I got sent the stats of the [quickest] turnaround in the whole world. And we sit [top].

“I tell you, ‘You have to do more, you have to fight more, and you have to go for it’. In a whole world, we have the quickest turnaround between games. That is absolutely insane. But they are still happy and they like subscribers. You can take me off that list! If you’re looking for a pundit [shaking his head].”
TNT have made light of the comments by mocking up a joke job application for a punditry role. The image shows Klopp sitting at a computer with a list of requirements for the job, including ‘Champions League winner’, ‘Premier League winner’, ‘multilingual’ and ‘willing to work 12.30pm on Saturdays’.
According to the BBC, 13.6% of Liverpool’s Premier League fixtures since Klopp’s appointment in October 2015 have kicked off at 12.30pm on a Saturday. It is the highest percentage of any top-flight team in the time since.
That is despite Liverpool frequently reaching the latter stages of the Champions League for most of Klopp’s tenure, with European matches taking place in midweek. The Reds were knocked out of the Europa League by Atalanta in the quarter-finals this season.
Liverpool appear to have run out of steam in their Premier League title chase. Klopp’s side are five points off Arsenal and four away from Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
