Girlfriend of murdered Aussie surfer’s heartbreaking publish as GoFundMe launched

The girlfriend of one of the surfers killed by bandits in Mexico has shared her grief in a heartbreaking online post.

Aussie brothers Callum and Jake Robinson and their American pal Jack Carter Rhoad have been officially confirmed as being the bodies pulled from a well after going missing during their trip-of-a-lifetime last weekend.

Friends and family of the trio were already fairly certain that they’d been murdered, and the official news from prosecutors merely confirmed what was already widely suspected.

Now Callum’s girlfriend Emily Horwarth has shared her tribute on social media.

Alongside a snap of the couple sharing a kiss, she wrote: “You are one of one. I will love you forever.”

She also posted an Instagram story, which said: “My heart is shattered into a million pieces. I don’t have the words right now.”

Callum, 33, was a lacrosse player with the nickname “Big Koala”, and in another moving message on an Instagram picture of the couple, Emily wrote: “I’d give anything for one more koala hug.”

Callum and Emily were based in San Diego, in the United States, while Jack, 30, still lived back home in Australia. Their pal Jack, 30, was also from San Diego.

The three surfers were last seen on April 27 in Baja California province.

Cops launched an intensive search and nabbed three suspects during their investigation – two men and a woman.

After the adventurers failed to show up at their AirBnB accommodation, police found three abandoned tents which were splattered with blood.

The men’s bodies were found about a mile away in the well along with the body of a fourth man, believed to be the landowner.

Chief prosecutor María Andrade Ramírez said initial indications were that the men were killed during a robbery, and that it was likely their Chevrolet pick-up truck – and its tyres – were the target.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page set up to support the Robinson family was already more than halfway towards its $250,000 (about £200,000) target by Monday morning.
