‘I ordered an espresso martini at restaurant however could not consider what arrived’
A lot of people enjoy an espresso martini on a night out.
The cold cocktail usually sees it made with espresso, coffee liqueur, and vodka and comes with a nice frothy top and a few coffee beans for decoration.
However, one woman has gone viral online after showing off her ‘awful’ espresso martini, which she got from US restaurant Chili’s.
The lady, named Em, took to X (formerly Twitter) to show off the drink. And people were left “wheezing” over how bad it was, as the post racked up a staggering 11million views.

Instead of the usual frothy top, the drink just featured brown liquid and was filled with coffee beans, rather than just the typical three that are usually in there.
Many people took to the comments section to mock the drink, as someone wrote: “When I get the job after lying on my resume.” Another added: “Nah sis they played you. That ain’t no espresso martini.”
And a third chimed in: “I cannot believe that is even real omg.” Many others seemed to think it looked like Pepsi or Cola with coffee beans in it, while another person exclaimed: “I am wheezing”.
According to Em, the drink was a collaboration between Chili’s with Vanderpump Rules stars Scheana Shay and Katie Maloney.
Let’s hope if the restaurant ever comes to the UK, they don’t bring this drink with them!
The post comes after TikTok users created a new trend for putting parmesan cheese in espresso martinis last year. Yes you read that right, cheese.
The new “parmesan espresso martini” became a sensation on the social media app, with cocktail enthusiasts loving it.
Abby Matthews, cocktail expert and director of The Cocktail Co, producer of ready-to-drink cocktails, said at the time: “The idea of adding parmesan to an espresso martini might sound unusual at first, but it’s a flavour combination that you’re likely already familiar with from a lot of popular breakfast meals – take an egg and cheese omelette with a coffee for example.
“Espresso martinis have always been a crowd-pleaser, offering smooth indulgence balanced with a caffeine kick.
“And while the cocktail is perfectly delicious by itself, the addition of a salty, savoury flavour profile from the parmesan can balance nicely with the cocktail’s sweet and bitter flavours, adding a unique depth that will leave your taste buds pleasantly surprised.”
