McLaren chief Zak Brown has joked he’ll be getting another tattoo after Lando Norris took the chequered flag at the Miami Grand Prix.
Norris, 24, held off the might of Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing to bring home his first F1 win in the Sunshine State. The Englishman was close to tears after his maiden triumph as he thanked his crew through the radio.
While Brown, 52, was already in the mood to celebrate – adding he might get a tattoo to commemorate Norris’ win. Speaking after the race, he said: “[My nerves were] not so good, they’re still not good.

“But what a drive. The car was great. I’ve got to thank everyone back at McLaren, and here. All the hard work is paying off… Yeah I don’t mind Miami. It’s kind of my home country, so why not? [on getting a tattoo].”
Brown has McLaren’s 2021 Italian Grand Prix win immortalised on his arm – after Daniel Ricciardo rocked and rolled his way around the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. The Aussie’s win in Italy was the first under Brown’s McLaren stewardship.

Brown joked that Miami has quite a few more corners than Monza when it comes to getting the ink.
“This is long overdue,” Brown added when asked about Norris’ win. “I think this is a very popular win amongst the fans and the drivers. The drivers went up to him and congratulated him. He drove perfectly. The car was really fast. I think Gil de Ferran and Mansour had something to do with today.”
Norris was able to hold of Verstappen by seven seconds, with Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari rounding out the podium after arriving home a couple of seconds behind the Dutch megastar.
