Prince Harry ought to ‘transfer Heaven and Earth’ to see recovering dad, King Charles

Prince Harry should “move Heaven and Earth” to meet up with his father King Charles during his whistle-stop visit to the UK for the Invictus Games, an expert has said.

Earlier today is was revealed that King Charles won’t be meeting up with his son. A Royal spokesman confirmed that it would “not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme.”

They added: “The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”

It comes after Harry flew in from California for a service at St Paul’s Cathedral to mark 10 years of his Invictus Games.

However, a royal expert has told the Daily Star that Prince Harry should not take no for and answer and “move Heaven and Earth” to try and find time to meet his father who is recovering from cancer.

Jonathan Sacerdoti said: “One can’t help feeling a son should move Heaven and Earth to see his father, especially one who has just finished his cancer treatment and returned to fuller public duties.

“But their circumstances are extraordinary, as we know, and their decisions making has so many more layers than many other people’s. If the King made the decision not to meet Harry I can only imagine it would have been a difficult and sad one for him.”

Although the issue of not meeting – and Harry’s behaviour towards the Royals in general in recent years – has left a rift that would explain the reluctance to meet, Jonathan shed some light on another potential reason why the King refused to meet.

He said: “Harry has a track record of using private family meetings for money-making PR purposes later on, so no doubt the Royal Family all have to think hard about seeing him in case it might end up as another dramatic scene in a book, TV show or podcast. It’s a sad situation for all involved.”

The Daily Star has reached out to Prince Harry’s team for a comment.
