William and Kate’s ‘heartbroken’ good friend lifts lid on couple ‘going through hell’
The emotional agony being faced by the Prince and Princess of Wales has been laid bare by one of their close pals.
The friend, Amaia Arrieta, has told how William and Kate have been “going through hell” since they were given the bombshell news of her diagnosis.
Children’s clothing designer Amaia – who is behind many of the outfits worn by the couple’s children – has given an insight into how they’ve been coping during the weeks since Kate was given the news.

“I’m heartbroken at the moment. I think they are going through hell,” she told the Daily Telegraph.
“I hope they will be back. It’s really personal.”
Amaia has worked with the family ever since Prince George was a baby. Her designs were first spotted as a pair of shorts and knee-high socks in a portrait of the young George 10 years ago.
She said that being able to dress the children brought her “so much pride”.
Heir to the throne William has been slowly getting back to royal duties while the duchess undergoes chemotherapy.
She remains out of the spotlight, and last month – when she announced her news – she appealed for time, space and privacy.
Kate, 42, said her diagnosis – which was made after she had undergone abdominal surgery – had come as a huge shock and that she and William “have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family”.
Last week, while Prince William was carrying out an engagement in the north-east of England, royal fan Julie Cain, 60, asked him: “Do you mind if I ask how your wife and children are?”
William replied: “All doing well, thank you. Yes, we’re doing well.”
