London Westfield buying centre evacuated over ‘bomb scare’ as ‘canine deployed’
A major London shopping centre has reportedly been evacuated over a possible scare, it has been reported.
Reports have circulated on X, formerly Twitter, of a “bomb scare” with people being warned to “be vigilant” at the Westfield shopping centre in Stratford in the east of the capital. The same account posted pictures of the incident seemingly showing emergency vehicles including fire engines, ambulances and police cars.
One person, seemingly on the scene, took to the same social media platform to say: “Be advised that if you’re coming to @westfieldstrat think again. The whole shopping centre and surrounds have been evacuated.i can see police tape up. Police marshalling people back. No further announcements or advice.
“Sniffer dogs in attendance. I’m being told that a fire has happened in the shopping centre. If this were an emergency evacuation it seems to have been a leisurely one. People still coming out of the building 25 minutes after the building was shut down.”
