Harry Kane has been teased after it was confirmed he would go another season without a trophy following Bayern Munich‘s Champions League semi-final defeat to Real Madrid.
Kane was three minutes away from a Wembley final against the club’s domestic rivals Borussia Dortmund having been substituted by Thomas Tuchel – but was then forced to watch as Madrid forward Joselu netted a late double to seal their place.
The England striker had scored from the spot in the first leg and assisted Alphonso Davies‘ opener at the Bernabeu, but he could not inspire his side to victory otherwise.
And to further poke fun at the ex-Tottenham forward, Paddy Power have compared his Bayern Munich side to his old club Spurs after suffering a rare season without any silverware – their first since 2012.
The bookmakers unveiled a sign directly outside Bayern’s Allianz Arena declaring that the German club had been officially ‘twinned’ with Tottenham.

Kane joined the club for £100m last summer hoping to finally end his trophy drought, but after he arrived they lost the German Super Cup final to RB Leipzig.
They were later knocked out of the German Cup to a third-tier side and watched as Bayer Leverkusen romped to an unthinkable Bundesliga title win.
Before this season, the Bavarian giants had completed a run of 11 back-to-back Bundesliga titles since 2013
A spokesperson for Paddy Power, Rachael Kane (no relation to Harry) said: ‘Even we didn’t think Harry Kane’s luck could get any worse, but here we are.
Kane came close to winning trophies during more than a decade with Spurs but is still waiting for his first piece of silverware
‘It seems even standing on the shoulders of giants can’t help him reach the trophy cabinet. On the upside, at least Bayern Munich must really feel like a home away from home now for the former Spurs stars.’
Kane starred for Spurs across 13 seasons and won the golden boot on three occasions, but never managed to claim silverware as he finished as runner-up in the Carabao Cup final twice and the Champions League final.
Tottenham as a club have not won a trophy since winning the League Cup in 2008 after a 2-1 win against Chelsea.
