Sharon Stone shuts down GMB’s Ed Ball
Sharon Stone shut down GMB‘s Ed Balls as she accused him of ‘setting up a question’ during a awkward moment on Thursday.
Host Ed, 57, asked Sharon, 66, about claims late producer Robert Evans allegedly suggested she sleep with her co-star William Baldwin to improve his performance in 1993’s Sliver.
Former Labour MP Ed, 57, said: ‘There’s been a huge change because of the Me Too Movement, the conviction of Harvey Weinstein.
‘I mean at a different place, hopefully, the film industry in Los Angeles compared to when you were there.
‘When you look back on those early points in your career, the fact that the Hollywood producer Robert Evans advised you to have sex with your fellow lead William Baldwin on the 1993 movie Sliver to improve on his performance, when you look at those times how do you feel today about what producers said to you…’

The American actress-turned-painter, 66, told the presenter (pictured) and his co-host Kate Garraway that she would not answer his question and sternly told him to move on
She previously claimed she had been pressured during the filming of 1998 Sliver to sleep with her co-star William by the producer Robert Evans, who died in 2019 but when Ed asked her about those claims, she accused him of ‘setting her up’
Sharon said: ‘First of all, you’re setting me up with the “did you beat your wife yet” comment so first of all, I’m not going to validate the statement that you just made as if it is true. ‘So we’re not going to do that to start with. So I’d like to restart with a new question somewhere else’
Sharon snapped back; ‘First of all, you’re setting me up with the “did you beat your wife yet” comment so first of all, I’m not going to validate the statement that you just made as if it is true.
‘So we’re not going to do that to start with. So I’d like to restart with a new question somewhere else.’
There was an awkward pause as Kate, 57, looked down at the desk but Ed soon chimed back: ‘When you look back, then, on the way in which you were treated in Hollywood 20, 25, 30 years ago.
‘How does it make you feel now?’
She replied: ‘Well I have been treated many different ways in Hollywood and all kinds of cities all over the place.
‘You’re not just treated a certain way and Hollywood isn’t really a place.here’s a Hollywood sign but it isn’t really where we do business.
‘Hollywood is an idea and you can’t get treated badly by an idea.
‘There are structural rules for society that are difficult for everyone and they have been difficult for women in every category whether you are the superstar or the girl I was when I was the waitress at McDonald’s.

‘I had the same problems at McDonald’s as I did when I was on set.’
Earlier in the year and speaking on Louis Theroux‘s podcast, Sharon claimed she was asked to sleep with William with the hope it would improve his performance.
She revealed: ‘They expected me to bring home another giant smash hit and they gave me casting approval and they gave me all these approvals, but then when it came time for me to do it they told me it was a vanity deal and I couldn’t have my approvals.
‘Then they started to try to blame me for their mistakes, and they made terrible mistakes in the way that they hired directors and cast.’
She claimed that former actor turned producer Evans summoned her from filming to his office to make the request for her to sleep with leading man William Baldwin — one of four acting brothers, and more widely known as Billy — off set.
Sharon said: ‘He called me to his office. He had these very low seventies, eighties couches, so I’m essentially sitting on the floor, when I should have been on set.
‘And he’s running around his office in sunglasses explaining to me that he slept with Ava Gardner and I should sleep with Billy Baldwin, because if I slept with Billy Baldwin, Billy Baldwin’s performance would get better.
‘And we needed Billy to get better in the movie because that was the problem.

Sharon said on hearing his demand she just thought about how he hadn’t listened to the list of actors that she had suggested for Baldwin’s part of Zeke Hawkins, and was frustrated that the film’s bosses expected her to go from costarring with Michael Douglas in Basic Instinct to Baldwin.
She added: ‘I didn’t have to f*** Michael Douglas. Michael could come to work and know how to hit those marks, and do that line, and rehearse and show up. Now all of a sudden I’m in the ‘I have to f*** people’ business.’
The actress previously discussed the situation in her 2021 memoir — without disclosing identities — but this week she divulged that Alec Baldwin‘s brother was the costar in question that producer Robert Evans allegedly urged her to improve her onscreen chemistry with in 1993.
In the aftermath Billy took to X (formerly Twitter) to state: ‘Not sure why Sharon Stone keep talking about me all these years later?
‘Does she still have a crush on me or is she still hurt after all these years because I shunned her advances? Did she say to her gal pal Janice Dickinson the day after I screen tested and ran into them on our MGM Grand flight back to New York… ‘I’m gonna make him fall so hard for me, it’s gonna make his head spin.’ ???
‘I have so much dirt on her it would make her head spin but I’ve kept quiet,’ he continued.
‘The story of the meeting I had with Bob Evans imploring him allow me to choreograph the final sex scene in the photo below so I wouldn’t have to kiss Sharon is absolute legend,’ he added.
‘Wonder if I should write a book and tell the many, many disturbing, kinky and unprofessional tales about Sharon?’ Baldwin concluded. ‘That might be fun.’

Earlier in the interview Sharon also admitted she was ‘hurt’ that ‘people didn’t care about her anymore’ after suffering a near death experience 22 years ago.
She was given just a one percent chance of making it through alive after she suffered a nine-day bleed on her brain in 2001 following a stroke.
The Emmy winner, who has drastically turned her life around since her brain hemorrhage, spoke about why she quit Hollywood and turned to painting.
Speaking to hosts Kate and Ed on the morning show, Sharon candidly shared why she didn’t want to return to Hollywood following a seven year break.
She said: ‘My real first step of recovery was about seven years and that’s a long time to lose your momentum.
‘In seven years, you’re no longer the flavor of the time, you no longer have box office heat, the same people you were working with are no longer in power anymore.
‘Everything changes and people don’t really care about that person anymore. It’s like going back to your old job seven years later, you don’t just walk back into your job and think nothing’s changed.
‘I was sort of hurt that the world moved on without me but I’ve kind of gotten over it now.’
Sharon also opened up about her invisible disability and the daily implications she suffers following the brain bleed.
She said: ‘It was really one of those miracle moments. I’m a different person, I have a invisible disability, you know, people don’t know that.
‘People can help you when they see you are walking with crutches but when you are having a bit of a problem with brain function, people don’t see that.’
Last month, the Casino star debuted a collection of paintings she did in a gallery show at Gallery 181 in San Francisco.
She shared two images on Instagram previewing her collection. This isn’t the first time she’s had a gallery show.

In recent years, the mother of three has taken a step back from Hollywood and turned her attention to her art, which has been showcased at galleries across the country.
She spends 17 hours a day painting in her Los Angeles mansion, and her work is being taken seriously. Her first painting sold for $30,000.
When asked why she paints, Sharon said: ‘I was really thinking about this the other day… I was thinking about how rarely women get to be what they want to be,’ she shared.
‘I loved to paint growing up,’ said the Beauty Of Living Twice author who was raised in Pennsylvania.
